How do I take the English Language Assessment as a jobseeker?

Boost your profile—Take the Assessment!

1. Log in to the Virtual Fair with your registered email address and password. 

2. Hover over your Profile icon to expand the menu. Click Career Tools, then select English Language Assessment, and finally choose Take Assessment.

You can also click on the SamurAI Tools icon on the Menu Bar to go to the SamurAI Tools page.

Then, click the Try it button for the English Assessment tool.

3. You will be taken to the instruction page. You’ll answer three tasks: Read Out Loud, Describe an Image, and Answer a Question. You can practise your response before you start recording.  Click Next to proceed.

4. You will arrive at the Set Up Your Devices page. Be in a quiet place. Test your camera and microphone to ensure they are working properly. Once everything is set, click Begin Assessment.

5. Recording starts automatically after 3 seconds, and each task allows up to 2 minutes of recording time.

Once you’re done answering, click Stop Recording, then move to the next task. The countdown shows how much time you have left to answer — if it runs out, the system will automatically proceed to the next task.

Read each task carefully and follow the instructions—each one measures a different skill, so do your best in all three.

View and attach your results to your profile!

Your results will be available in 10–15 minutes, and you’ll receive an email notification once they’re ready.

1. Hover over your profile icon to expand the menu, click Career Tools, then select English Language Assessment, and finally choose Assessment Results.

2. Click the gear icon to take actions.

3. View Result to read your scores, feedback, and more from your assessment.

4. Attach To Profile to proudly share your results with employers.
